Football sandwiches
*these are worthy of a touchdown*
Made with bread of your choice, cold cuts (meat), cheese slices, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, mustard, mayo and cream cheese |
Curious on how to get that unique football shape? Buy a football shaped cookie cutter. Cut your bread, cheese and meat slices and assemble. To add the football laces, put cream cheese in a pastry bag with a round tip (or the easier version: a Ziploc baggy with the corner cut) and draw the "standard" laces on the top bread. YUMMY!!
And who doesn't like bacon and combining that with potatoes, now that's what we call a home-run... Wait, wrong sport!
Clean your baking potatoes thoroughly, and create thin slices (but be careful not to go through the whole potato). Next, take your sliced potatoes and put into a baking dish; sprinkle with melted butter and parmesan cheese. Bake at 350F until potatoes are tender, but a little crisp. Remove from oven and add grated cheese and crumbled bacon. For added flavor, we recommend adding the cheese and bacon into some of the slices. Put the pan back into the oven until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is melted. Serve HOT! Optional: add chopped chives and sour cream

Items needed:
Freshly popped popcorn
An array of different toppings. Our favorites are melted butter, cinnamon, parmesan cheese, grated chocolate, taco seasonings, nuts and the list could go on forever. Creativity is the key. Each guest will get their own bowl (we would use paper for ease of clean-up) and let them mix to their hearts content.
Dessert:
Let the football shaped cookie cutter work double. Make a batch of your favorite sugar cookies and cut out your footballs. Add chocolate frosting (pre-made is fine) and decorate them in celebration of your favorite team. For a quick and easy display; add green food coloring to some grated coconut and lay your cookies on top.
We bet you are curious to find out that this post had nothing to do with sewing... well, that's because when we think of the Super Bowl, we think of our stomachs.
May the best team win!
